For the uninitiated, Eid-e-Milad, also known as Mawlid al-Nabi al-Sharif in Arabic, is known as the Birthday of Prophet Muhammad. It is observed on the twelfth day in the Islamic month of Rabi' alawwal to celebrate the birth of their prophet. On this day, individuals dress up in new clothes, offer prayers and hold big feasts for friends and family.
