Over the past decade or so, technology has drastically taken over the world. It is capable of doing everything a human being can do and possibly replacing all the tasks expected to be done by people. Proof? Well, recently drones took over the runway instead of models. You read that right. Luxury fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana chose drones over models to carry its handbags down the runway for their Fall/Winter collection 2018 at the Milan Fashion Week.
Drones parading handbags down the runway
The show kicked off nearly an hour later than the scheduled time. According to Fashionista, the audience attending the show were asked to turn off the Wi-Fi function or personal hotspots of their cell phones as it might have interfered with the spectacle. A fleet of around 7 drones hovered along the runway, each carrying a jewel-encrusted Dolce & Gabbana handbag dangling beneath it.

The collection was named ‘devotion’ and featured heart-shaped closures leaving an impact on the audience. Along with the drones, two presumable crash control members of the team loitered up and down in case something unexpected happened. Although no nuisance was created. Once the drones were done, human models returned on the catwalk to show off D&G’s clothes. Perhaps drones would not have fit into the brands clothes. And proves that humans are not yet obsolete or passé.
