On the work front, she will be next seen in a biopic of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Aggarwal in Chhapaak. After a year-long gap from Bollywood films, she wanted to make sure that she took the best one once she re-joined. Naturally, this Meghna Gulzar directorial fits the bill perfectly.

Speaking of choosing Deepika as her lead actress, the Raazi director said, "It was a moment of serendipity when I asked for a meeting with Deepika. I had had many conversations with myself that she just may not be interested in doing the kind of film that I was talking to her. And she wasn’t. She was looking to do something lighter after three intense films. But I didn’t have a light, romantic script for her." Well, this is one of the best decisions that the filmmaker must have made and we look forward to one Raazi kind of brilliant flick from her end.
