The 2019 Cannes Film Festival is all set to take place from May 14 to 25 at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France. Each year we have observed that the best of cinema from around the world is celebrated at this international film festival. This is the 72nd edition and once again we’ll get to watch many leading celebrities walking down the red carpet and also attending the screenings. Bollywood lovers look forward to some of the popular faces of the industry. All eyes are on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and more. The 33-year-old Sonam has made a splash at the international film festival by flaunting her eccentric sense of style. As we await to see her avatar at the 2019 Cannes, let’s glance through at some of her red carpet moments. Cannes 2011
This was Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s debut at the international film festival. She opted for a Jean Paul Gaultier gown and stunned at the red carpet. For a private dinner on The Cavalli Yacht she wore a Roberto Cavalli dress. But her appearance in The Row gown with the not-so-pleasing eye makeup and hairstyle, didn’t go down well with her fans. And then she stunned everyone by donning a polka dot saree by Masaba.
Cannes 2012
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja had worn a dress by Naeem Khan at the the L’Oreal and Chopard rooftop party. For the red carpet, she opted for a beautiful Alexander McQueen gown.
Cannes 2013
The gorgeous actress took her sense of fashion to another level in that year. She wore a strapless Dolce & Gabana floral gown at the red carpet and for the screening of The Great Gatsby she was seen in a saree by Anamika Khanna. The pearl nathni, winged eye-liner grabbed eyeballs.
Cannes 2014
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja opted for a vintage look; wore an Eli Saab, a beautiful black gown. After wowing everyone at the red carpet on day one, the next day Sonam wore pale pink Anamika Khanna couture net sari dress. The netizens really couldn’t take their eyes off from her. Cannes 2015
Each year Sonam Kapoor Ahuja had something fresh and stylish to offer and in 2015 the Indian actress slayed in a blue Ralph and Russo ball gown at the red carpet. For her second appearance she opted an Elie Saab outfit but that did not please the fashion police and drew lot of flaks. But she managed to stun everyone by wearing an Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla couture for Chopard’s annual grand soirée.
Cannes 2016
The fashion goddess slayed the red carpet in a Ralph and Russo sari-inspired dress. This custom gown had cutouts and an embroidered trail. She again appeared in a Ralph and Russo column gown which also had a floral netted long cape. And then for the Chopard party she again made heads turn as she walked down in a black strapless ball gown.
Cannes 2017
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s looked like a dream on day one in the pink dress by Elie Saab. On day two she opted for a simple and classy look, donned a custom-made gold Elie Saab Haute Couture.
Cannes 2018
That year was truly special for Sonam Kapoor as she had tied the knot with her longtime beau, Anand Ahuja. The beauty wore a Ralph and Russo custom made lehenga, braided her hair beautifully, and of course flaunted her mehendi (henna). For second red carpet appearance she wore a beige off-shoulder gown with a yellow tulle designed by the US-based designer Vera Wang.
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has given major style goals throughout these at the international film festival. And we just can’t wait to see her avatars at 2019 Cannes.
