Monsoon surely is a breather from the sweltering summer heat and one of the most awaited-season. But with monsoons are accompanied the illnesses, diseases and many more woes. One of them, specifically faced by women, are the beauty woes. Rains make it difficult to dab on some makeup that will last throughout the day. The seasons comes with its own makeup do’s and don’ts list. Although you can follow some tips that will help you look dazzling and beautiful even in this season.

Tips to Protect Your Makeup During Monsoons

1 Avoid Foundation: Foundation or a heavy base can get quite messed up because obviously rains and high-level humidity. Instead, replace foundation with face powder. This to an extent will help in keeping the look intact even if you get drenched. Do not overdo with powder as well, use how much is needed. Just get rid of the creasy look and nothing else.

2 Cream Blush: Use cream instead of powders. The idea is to blend the blush really well and remember less is more. Do not make it look cakey. Also, when wiping the face, just dab it with a tissue or a blotting paper, do not rub it all over your face. Give your cheeks the natural flush with blush. Pastel colours like pink and peach work well for monsoons. If you want to, you can avoid the blush altogether.

3 Eyeshadow: Like foundation, go for a powdered form of eyeshadow. Cream eyeshadows will go greasy and form crease lines, making it look patchy. Use subtle colours like beige, brown, pink, make it look as neutral as possible.

4 Liners & Mascara: Make sure your liner is thin and mascara water-proof. Avoid mascara unless absolutely necessary. Use a pencil liner instead of a liquid liner. You can also apply a dash of eyeshadow on the upper lid and just go over with a kajal. This won’t get messy and will keep your eyes defined.

5 Lip Colours: Use long-lasting range of lipsticks and opt for matte shades instead of glossy. Gloss will get sticky and smudge easily when you get wet. Also, to make your lipsticks stay longer, apply a lip liner closer to the shade you are going for and then wear your choses shade of lipstick.

During rains, getting the right makeup look is surely a task but it can be achieved. With the right products and techniques, you can look gorgeous without smearing the makeup all over your face. Keep your skin hydrated and opt for water-based moisturisers. Hairstyling tip – keep it simple and classy. You do not want an elaborate thing going up in your head. Simplicity is the key to get through the monsoons.
