Chhapaak is scheduled for release on January 10, 2020, and also marks Deepika’s first project as a producer. The drama, directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Deepika Padukone and Meghna Gulzar in collaboration with Fox Star Studios features Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey. It is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Deepika essays the role of Malti, the acid attack survivor whose strong sense of self, beliefs and resilience to bring the perpetrators to justice forms the crux of this film.
