The number of dry days in 2019 across the country has gone up with the announcement of Lok Sabha Elections 2019. There will be more dry days than were mentioned in earlier calendars in the months of March and April in cities across India. Since voting will take place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, there will be more than 10 dry days added between these days. With Model Code of Conduct coming into place 48 hours before the voting date, dry day will begin in respective states one and a half day before polling day and will end on the evening of the voting day. Meanwhile, May 23, the day when Lok Sabha Elections 2019 results will be announced, will be a full dry day across the country in all states. No liquor will be sold or served anywhere in India on May 23 as counting of votes will be taking place on this day.
