Don't Give These Presents as They Are Bound to be Passed Around as Regifts This Holiday Season
This year National Regifting Day 2019 will be marked on December 19 and if you do not want to give a present that might be regifted, we give you a list of things which people, in general, do not like getting any more.
We all love receiving gifts, but we all have our preferences too! As much as we are excited to unwrap and open the gifts, all of it just goes down when you see a very regular or an effortless choice being presented to you in a gift box. And then you keep it away just so you can pass it around. We all have been found to do that at some point, and in the US there is a celebration of National Regifting day too which is being marked today. This day was especially started in honour of the office parties around Christmas, where a lot of people exchanged gifts but not everyone was happy with them. With an idea of recycling and passing them to someone else, a National Regifting day is celebrated every year on the Thursday before Christmas. The festive season of Christmas and New Year is a time when we see a lot of people shopping gifts for their friends and family. While some of them make customised gifts, others just head to a gift store and pack anything that seems gift-worthy. And while all of us wants our gifts to be likeable by the recipient, there are some items which are just going to be returned or passed on to someone else. If you do not want that, we give you a list of gifts which are bound to be regifted. This Gift Wrapping Hack Is Life-Saving! Viral Video of Christmas Gift Wrap Technique Surprises Netizens.
Cups
We all have been surviving on our daily tea/coffee and have a cup. In fact, there is even a spare cup with most of us in case, the one breaks. So cups are a big No-No!
Showpieces
Unless the person you are gifting to is a collector of items, showpieces are a bad idea to give. They do not serve any purpose as such and are most likely to catch on dust a few days later.
Flower Vase
Not everyone is in the habit of getting fresh flowers daily. So what most likely happens to your beautiful vase is, it accumulates just dust or then, of course, passed on to someone else.
Makeup Products
Everyone who is fond of makeup may love it, but then they may have their own brands they stick by. Unless you perfectly know of the kind of products they love and use daily, you'd rather not gift makeup. Firstly, it comes expensive and if the recipient doesn't like it, it will be passed on to someone else.
Books
Books are a wonderful gift idea but for an avid reader. If you plan to gift a book, know about the kind of literature the person likes to read. Just because you liked some book need not mean someone else would enjoy it too. And if the person does not like reading at all, they will give it away.
Again, all of the above gifts are subjective, it depends on person to person. For some who loves collecting antiques, you could present beautiful showpieces which have a story to them. For those who love books, choose an author they enjoy reading. For those who love flowers, gift them a vase. The best way to avoid presenting something that is regifted is to understand the likes and dislikes of a person. Or just give than a gift card which they can utilise to buy what they like.
