US President Donald Trump is on a three-day state visit to the UK with his wife Melania Trump. The visit started itself with a controversial welcome and there were protests in several places against Donald Trump. But that aside, Donald Trump was welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II at the Buckingham Palace and there was a praise of 'eternal friendship' between the UK and US. As per White House, president Trump and his wife Melania presented Queen Elizabeth with a Tiffany & Co. silver and silk poppy brooch with a custom, White House wood jewellery container. It was placed inside a red leather box. And to Queen's husband Prince Phillip, they gifted a personalized Air Force One jacket. The Queen too had selected her gifts for the US visitors. She gave the first edition of Winston Churchill’s The Second World War with a gold tooled embroidery to Trump, as per Buckingham Palace. And for Melania Trump, she had got a specially commissioned silver box with a handcrafted enamel lid. The center of it was in royal blue with matched with the music room of the palace. And like Trump's gift, it also had the gold EIIR cypher. Although this is not the first time there's been an exchange of gifts between US President and the royal family. Even when Trump visited the UK last summer, he had got gifts for the Queen.

Trump was welcomed by the Queen on Monday when he arrived in London. He then had a meeting at the Buckingham Palace banquet. Here he praised the Queen calling her "great, great woman". The Queen also praised the role of two countries in creating institutions that would ensure no conflicts between the nations. He also met with Prime Minister Theresa May later for a business roundtable discussion.
