While nature has always nurtured us the right way by providing us with all the necessities for survival, its misuse- that we are doing readily- can cost us our lives. Global warming is a menace that is eating up our planet day after day and harming the environment is depleting our natural resources too. A recent study has proven that soon by 2050, we won't have enough resources to survive. We will be only left with of the vegetable supply today, all thanks to global warming. According to the prediction made by the study, Leafy greens veggies and tomatoes will become scarce soon if no action is taken with immediate effects. Also, the availability of pulses and wheat are set to reduce by 35 per cent and legumes by 9 per cent predicted.
How Is Global Warming Related to a Shortage of Vegetables?
According to the study, with an increase in the temperature, we could face a shortage of water which, in turn, can affect the nutritional quality and production of the vegetables. The effects could be worse in the warmer areas like South- Asia, Southern parts of Europe and Africa. The shortage and quality depletion of vegetables and legumes can directly affect the health of people as vegetables and legumes form a large part of a healthier diet.
What Can You Do to Help?
