With her appearance in the upcoming Miss Universe contest, the Spanish beauty queen hopes to become a role model for young trans people around the world and inspire them to pursue their dream. At recent, in an interview with the Mirror, the 27-year-old model has reported her desire to be a mother, adding that she never considered herself to be a man. Ponce was quoted saying, “For me, maternity is more than just having ovaries. The orphanages are full of children wanting to be adopted and I can be a mother like anyone else.”

Earlier, Miss Universe Spain 2018, revealed in several media outlets that at the age of 11, she first began to explore her gender identity. In April 2014, she completed her transition. Ponce’s accomplishment is a big deal in truest sense for trans women as they were not allowed to compete in the beauty pageant. It was only in 2012, that transgenders were first allowed to compete in one of the most life-changing contests, Miss Universe. Not sure about her win as there certainly will be many presenters fairly competing to earn the Miss Universe 2018 crown, but Ponce had already impressed her fans for her boldest appearances. And it is certain, that she would become a wonderful mother too.
