With World Cancer Day being around, a wonderful sight at Brighton beach was seen to raise tens of thousands of dollars for cancer research. In a unique way of raising money, hundreds of Marilyn Monroe impersonators claimed a new world record in Adelaide, before going for a dip in the ocean. Marilyn Jetty Swim attracts 270 men and woman dressed as Marilyn Monroe to Brighton beach, creating a world record like never before. The Guinness World Record is set for most people dressed as the famous Marilyn Monroe as a part of an event to raise money for the Cancer Council SA. The event created the new world record of having the most number of people dressed as Marilyn Monroes in one location.

To recreate Marilyn Monroe's look all the people decked up in the iconic Monroe white frock with white wig her beauty mark and makeup. In fact, organiser Sarah Tinney had to even turn down a few people because of the lack of Marilyn Monroe wigs. The good news, however, is that according to reports the organisers said that about $65,000 has been already raised this year and they are on track to top $100,000 in total, for the Cancer Council SA. Moreover, many of the participants are also either living through or have been through in the past with cancer and it is their spirit that is bringing in such a huge change.
