The 16-year-old girl from Vadodara created history by becoming the first Indian and Asian to win the title by beating 22 contestants from across the world. Miss Teen International 2019 was the 27th edition of the beauty pageant held on December 19, 2019, at JaiBagh Palace in Jaipur, India. Last year’s winner, Odalys Duarte of Mexico crowned her successor Aayushi Dholakia at the end of the event. This is the first time an Indian has won the prestigious crown in 27 years. Aayushi is also the first Asian to win Miss Teen International 2019.

1. Aayushi is a 16-year-old girl, who hails from Vadodara, Gujarat and is a class 11 student.

2. She is trained in Kathak classical dance and has been dancing for ten years now.

3. At the international beauty pageant, the 16-year-old girl has also won the Best National Costume award and Best in Speech Award.

4. It was her answer to the final question that made her the winner of the international beauty pageant.

"Do you think the world would be a better place if we just had one world government and no separate countries?" one of the judges asked Aayushi at the beauty pageant.

To the question, the teenager answered: “I don't think that the world will be a better place if we had a single government and no separate countries as all the countries are divided on their geographical area, people, their ideas and opinions. All the world and political leaders are well aware what is better for their countrymen and people. Being an Indian, I strongly believe in "Vasudhaiva Kutumakkam" which means the world is one large family. So, irrespective of the different countries and government we all are one family. So, irrespective of the different countries and government we all are a family and are bounded by love and peace.”

5. Aayushi took her pageant training and grooming at India’s No. 1 Pageant institute Cocoaberry, based in Mumbai, under the mentor-ship of Alesia Raut and Anjali Raut.

About 22 countries were vying for Miss International 2019. Yessenia Garcia from Paraguay was the first runners-up, and Anicia Goathusi from Botswana came as the second runners-up at the prestigious event.
