Woman With Schizophrenia Kept Chained for 6 Years by Family Members, Gets Rescued in Odisha

Mayurbhanj, August 30: A 26-year-old woman suffering from Schizophrenia, who was kept chained by family members have been rescued and admitted to a hospital in Odisha's Mayurbhanj. According to an ANI report, the father of the victim Mangulu Ho said that whenever she is free, she will tear off her clothes, run away from home and often break things. "We don't like tying her with chains, but at least she is safe this way and we have been able to provide her food on time." According to reports, Mangulu tries getting medical help from the government for his daughter, but all was in vain. Police officials got to know about the victim after a local journalist informed them.
