Lucknow, April 8: A suicide attempt was thwarted by the security officials posted outside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's residence. The woman attempted to kill herself claiming police inaction to her complaint against a BJP MLA and his accomplice who allegedly raped her.
After she was rescued by the police personnel, the woman raised hue and cry over the lack of heed paid to her complaint by the authorities. Apart from the police officials, the woman also blamed CM Adityanath, accusing him of turning a deaf ear to her plight.
"I was raped. I have been going from pillar to post for one year but no one listened to me. I want all of them arrested otherwise I will kill myself. I had even gone to the CM but to no result," the woman said while speaking to news agency ANI.
She claimed her family members are facing life threats ever since they approached the police to seek justice. "Since we lodged the FIR, we were threatened," she added.

The BJP lawmaker accused of raping her is Kuldeep Singh Sengar, the MLA from Bengarmau in Unnao district.
"They alleged that Kuldeep Singh Sengar raped her, no action was taken and they were beaten up by the other party. On further probe, it was found that both parties are in a dispute since 10-12 years," said Rajiv Krishan, ADG Lucknow.
He further added that the case has been transferred from Unnao to Lucknow, to reprobe the matter. "Allegations can be proved only after a thorough investigation," he said.
The suicide attempt comes six days after a 32-year-old "rape victim" immolated herself outside the CM's residence, demanding the arrest of those who allegedly perpetuated the sexual assault against her.
She is currently admitted at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital, being treated for forty percent burn injuries.
According to the police, the Barabanki-based woman is making false allegations as investigation so far has contradicted her claims in the FIR.
