Wine Shop Owner Shot Dead, Looted in Mumbai: Spreads Fear in the Community

Mumbai, June 12: Late on Sunday, a wine shop owner was returning home, after closing the shutters of his shop, and he was shot dead and robbed by two masked men at Goregaon (East). According to a Times of India report, the police is trying to grab the CCTV footage to catch the assailants.

The deceased has been identified as Sajnish Singh Chawla, 43, and he hails from an affluent family. The accused first shot him and then grabbed his bag, which had Rs 4 lakh cash in it.

Reportedly, the incident has sparked fear in the Mumbai's shop owner community, and especially among the liquor vendors, because they deal with huge cash during the day, and also at the close of the working day.
