West Bengal: No Respite for Common Man As Prices of Breads, Cakes and Biscuits Hiked by 20 Per cent

Kolkata, November 17: The West Bengal Bakers' Association Saturday announced a 20 per cent hike in the prices of bread, cakes and biscuits in the state from Sunday. Price of bread per pound (400gm) would go up by Rs four and would now cost Rs 24 from Sunday, Idris Ali secretary Joint Action Committee of West Bengal Bakers' Association told reporters here.
"We are compelled to raise the price of bread, cakes, biscuits because of the excessive increase of price of all bakery raw materials. Prices will be increased by 20 per cent.
