Himachal Pradesh, August 24: Heavy rainfall alert has been issued for all the districts in Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat districts for August 24 and 25. According to another ANI update, due to the heavy rain warning, all educational institutions including schools and colleges in Kangra district to remain closed today.

The state has been receiving very heavy rainfall, and this time the warning is of a massive downpour in all the districts. According to a Times of India report, in Bajpur, water-logging has become a major issue. Post the warning, the state government has asked the authorities to be extremely vigilant. People living on the embankments areas of the rivers have been asked to go to safer places.

Over the last few weeks, heavy rainfall in Kerala has almost devasted the state as it is trying to recover from the huge floods that happened. More than 374 lives have been lost and several are displaced because of it. Massive rescue work is taking place and people are extending their help with generous donations. The Kochi Airport which was earlier announced that it will remain shut till August 26, will now stay closed till August 29.
