Ahmednagar, March 16:  After writing a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking for space to organise his agitation on the Jan Lokpal and farmers issue, Anti-corruption crusader from Maharashtra has declared that he will start his Satyagraha on March 23 on the issue of farmers.

On March 12, Hazare told PTI that he had written several letters to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and police and civic authorities of Delhi since November last year seeking a venue but had got no response. This is what Anna said today:

He said that he had also written 43 letters so far to the PM demanding the implementation of the Lokpal and Lokayukta bills and to solve farm woes but the latter had not replied to any of them. He alleged that the Union government had weakened the Right to Information Act.

It remains to be seen if Anna Hazare can have the same effect he had when he had led the anti-corruption movement against the UPA government for the passing of the Jan Lokpal Bill in 2011. The agitation and his fast had gained widespread coverage from media and support from the masses, and also brought to light Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Kumar Vishwas who were then members of India Against Corruption organisation.
