Hyderabad, May 21: UAE government has come up with a new and stringent rule, and thanks to it, criminals from the city won't be able to flee and land up in UAE with a job there. According to a Deccan Chronicle report, those coming for work must get a character certificate from their home country. In the past several men from Hyderabad, including gangster Ayub Khan, had stayed in the UAE after obtaining a work visa before his arrest in 2017, according to various reports.

The rule was implemented in February, and the intention is not to allow criminals to get shelter in UAE. The certificate must be issued from the applicant's home country, or the country of their residency for the last five years, also it needs to be attested by the UAE diplomatic missions or oversees Customer Happiness Centres at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The 'Good Conduct and Behaviour Certificate', thus becomes mandatory for those who want to get a work visa.

However, the certificate would not be required from those who come to the country on a visit or are on a tourist visa.
