Video: Bengaluru Woman Constable Breastfeeds Abandoned New Born Baby To Save His Life

Bengaluru, June 6: A Bengaluru cop is in the news for going out of her way to show her motherly affection by breastfeeding a newborn abandoned baby. In fact, the entire Police department deserves praise because everyone played an equal role to rescue the baby and bring him back to life. According to a report, on June 1, the locals alerted the Police that a newborn was lying unattended in a plastic bag. On receiving the news, they rushed to the spot and found the baby covered in blood and his umbilical cord around his neck. The cops took the child to a nursing home, where the doctors looked after him, without any fees.

Even after the child was treated and cleaned, he looked very quiet and dull. All the officers were anxious about his well being because the child was not crying or making any news. It was at that point of time, a woman constable, named Archana who was back from her maternity leave just 15 days back, took the child aside and breastfed him.

Soon after he was fed, he regained his lost energy, and loud cries were heard from the room. Everyone smiled and heaved a sigh of relief. The child was named and handed over to an orphanage. The child also has a particular name- Kumaraswamy and according to a report, where a police officer has been quoted said, "The child is government’s baby, after all, so he was named after the man who runs the government."
