Dehradun, July 1: In a tragic incident, forty-seven people have died after a bus fell down a gorge in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand on Sunday morning. The incident took place at Nainidanda area. Eleven people have also been injured. According to Garhwal Commissioner, the casualties may increase.

According to reports, the 28-seater bus was going to Ramnagar from Bhaun. The driver lost control near the Guen Bridge on Pipli-Bhaun motorway in NainiDanda block, and the bus fell into the gorge.

The police have rushed to the spot. The administrative authorities have started operations to rescue the survivors. Inspector General of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Sanjay Gunjial has informed that a chopper has been rushed to airlift the remaining injured people.
