Uttar Pradesh Rape: 6-Year-Old Raped When She Stepped Out to See a 'Baaraat' Procession in Siddharthnagar

Despite all the media attention, these cases have been garnering, but will there be an end to crimes against women and minor in near future?

Uttar Pradesh, April 19: Another rape incident, involving a minor has been reported and this time it is from Siddharthnagar in Uttar Pradesh. According to ANI, a 6-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Chilhiya Police Station limits, late last night, when she went out to see a 'baaraat' procession. The accused, who is from the same village has been arrested. It is a shame and a blot on our society as these horrific incidents are on a rise. On Wednesday,  reports of a 12-year old mentally challenged girl in West Delhi being raped by her neighbour came up. Post the incident, the rape video was shared on WhatsApp to the victim's family.

This week another shocking rape case came in front of the media, in which a minor, a eight year old girl was raped and murdered in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh. There have been nationwide protests around the recent Unnao, Kathua and Surat rape and murder cases that have shook the nation. In another shocking incident from Lucknow, a father gifted her daughter to his friends and together they gang-raped her.  

Recently, from celebrities, politicians and common man, everyone has come to the streets to protest and demand strict punishment against those accused of committing such heinous crimes. However, despite all the media attention, these cases have been garnering,  will there be an end to crimes against women and minor in the near future?
