Uttar Pradesh, July 23: The state government informed the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Monday that the air connectivity to Uttar Pradesh has increased 3-fold in the last two years, with as many as 53 connections now to domestic destinations from six functional airports in the state. These numbers were presented to show how the air connectivity has improved after BJP came to power in 2017. According to an Economic Times report, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s home town of Gorakhpur is now connected to five domestic destinations rather than just Delhi as earlier. Talking about international connectivity, 12 international connections are now also available from Uttar Pradesh, including eight from Lucknow and four from Varanasi. These include destinations like Bangkok, Kaula Lampur, Kathmandu, Sharjah, Dubai and Muscat. In 2014, only eight foreign destinations were connected from Uttar Pradesh.
