Farrukhabad (UP), April 5: Rescue operation is on to save a seven-year-old girl who is stuck in a 60-foot-deep borewell in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad district for the past two days, officials said on Friday. Seema fell into the borewell on Wednesday evening while she was playing near her house at Rasidapur village in Kamalganj area. The local administration swung into action and rescue operation is still on, the officials said.

District Magistrate Monika Rani said the National Disaster Response Force and the Army are trying their best to save the girl, but as it was loose soil, they were finding it difficult to reach her. The official said the loose soil and sand did not allow the team to dig a parallel borewell near the first one, the official said, adding that they were taking all precautions.
