Unnao, April 27: Post the unfortunate accident which happened on Thursday, where a school bus and train collided with each other at an unmanned crossing in Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh, left 13 children dead and several injured and in a critical state. Today, in Unnao, efforts are being taken to avert any such incidents from occurring. According to an ANI report, police personnel are conducting checking of vehicles ferrying school students. Police say, "Many defaulters were found after which we used Police vehicles to send children to school. We are working to rectify things."

In the wake of the accident, Railways said it will eliminate all level crossings by March 31, 2020. Railway Board Chairman Ashwani Lohani also said no step the national carrier takes could be completely foolproof against the negligence of people and urged them to be careful while crossing tracks.
