Unnao, April 12: Earlier in the day, the prime accused in the Unnao rape case, BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh was booked, Uttar Pradesh DGP said that, they cannot arrest him because there are not enough evidence. Just as the entire nation is seething with anger about the on-going rape crisis, another horrific news from Unnao has come up. According to ANI, a burnt body of a woman has been found in forest area, in Asoha. The body has not been identified yet, police and forensic team is conducting investigation on the matter.

Earlier in the day, in connection with the Unnao rape case, the prime accused, BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was booked under POSCO on the charges of raping a young girl. However, Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar soon came out saying, "The charges against rape-accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar haven't been proved and hence Police cannot arrest him", OP Singh, UP DGP said. He further added saying that the case has been transferred to CBI and it would be their call to arrest him. On April 11, CM Yogi had ordered SIT to probe into the Unnao Rape Case matter and submit a report by today. Further the victim had appealed to CM Yogi to provide justice in the matter. The case still is hanging because the accused is still not arrested and he is roaming freee.
The rise in incidents of violence against women in the state, puts a big question mark on the law and authority prevalent in the state.
