Jaipur, May 26: Rajasthan minister Arun Chaturvedi today said that the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas will hold a meeting to find a solution on the rise in fuel prices.

The Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment said the rise in fuel prices was caused by fluctuation in crude oil prices in the international market and on the basis of the influence of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

“Petroleum minister has recently said that he will hold a meeting to find out a solution to the matter,” Chaturvedi said at a press conference convened to highlight the achievements of the NDA government on completion of four years.

Every state has its own financial arrangements and resources, he added.

When asked to comment on the BJP's protests against the fuel prices hikes during the UPA regime, the minister, also a former state president of the BJP, said, “I have no idea.”

The minister highlighted achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government in the last four years.

“Modi government is a policy-driven government which worked for all sections of the society by launching schemes and programmes like MUDRA yojna, Jan Dhan Yojna, Stand up, Startup programmes among others,” he said.

In Rajasthan, he said, 41 lakh people were benefitted by the MUDRA scheme and more than 3 lakh houses were constructed against the approved 4.79 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.
