New Delhi, June 18: Good news for frequent Indian flyers, as UAE will grant free 48-hour visas to passengers in transit. According to a Times of India report, people flying between India and the rest of the world through United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) mega-hubs like Dubai and Abu Dhabi will soon be able to get a free transit visa to spend up for the first 48 hours.
This visa can be extended up to 96 hours by paying 50 Dirham (about Rs 930). Reportedly, the date from which the facility will be started is yet to be announced. UAE us already one of the single most prominent international destinations for Indian travellers, and the decision to grant free 48-hour transit visa will further increase the number of visitors to UAE.
Gulf nations are therefore trying their best to attract Indian travellers and are relaxing visa norms. According to a Dubai Tourism statistics, Dubai attracted over 2.1 million Indian tourists in 2017.
