New Delhi, Feb 28: The exit poll results of Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland assembly elections 2018 were released on Tuesday, hours after polling concluded. The survey predicts victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led front in two states - Tripura and Nagaland - apart from a foothold for the saffron party in Meghalaya.
If the exit poll outcome are reflective of the actual results to be declared on March 3, the BJP will further establish its dominance in the Northeast -- the region where it barely had electoral presence before 2014.
Tripura Assembly Election Exit Poll Results
Tripura, considered to be the final red-bastion, where the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has been ruling for the past 25 years, will be wrested by the BJP, the surveys claim.

- CPI(M): 9-15

- Others (including Congress): 0-1
CVoter survey
- BJP-IPFT: 24-32
- CPI(M): 26-34
- Others (including Congress): 0-4
The CVoter survey brings some respite for the CPI(M) as it predicts a battle neck-to-neck in the frontier state. However, two other exit polls - conducted by Axis My-India and NewsX - have predicted a victory for the saffron party.
In the 2013 assembly elections in Tripura, the CPM had won 50 of the 60 seats, with the Congress emerging as the prime opposition with 10 MLAs.
Nagaland Assembly Election Exit Poll Results
The exit polls have predicted a narrow-lane victory for the BJP-Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) combine in Nagaland -- a state with 90 percent Christian population. The ruling Nagaland People's Front (NPF) is likely to be unseated from power.

Meghalaya Assembly Election Exit Poll Results
The exit polls have predicted a hung assembly in Meghalaya, the only northeastern state, along with Mizoram, which is ruled by the Congress.

The National People's Party or NPP, founded by former Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangma, is expected to emerge as the top runner in the Meghalaya electoral race, unseating the ruling Congress from power. A post-poll alliance between the NPP, BJP and other non-Congress factions could not ruled out, pundits claim.
