The final vote-count figures in Tripura signal a two-third majority victory for the BJPIPFT combine, as the alliance has won 43 of the 59 seats contested. The CPI(M) has been reduced to 16 seats, down from 50 it won in the previous assembly elections.
The BJP-IPFT combine has maintained a steady lead on 41 of the 59 seats contested. Although the final results have not been declared, the Left Front has accepted defeat considering the massive lead taken by BJP+. "We have lost the election, but our struggle is not over. There can never be CM as honest and hardworking as Manik Sarkar," said CPI leader Atul Anjaan.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to form its first ever government in Tripura, with trends showing it ahead on at least 36 seats. The CPI(M) is ahead on remaining 24. The vote percentage difference between the two has widened upto 3.5 per cent.ย
As per thr trends emerging, the BJP+ is likely to cross the halfway mark as the party has taken lead in 32 seats, whereas, the CPM is ahead on 27. In terms of vote percentage, the BJP-IPFT combine has polled more than 48 per cent of the votes counted so far. The CPM is trailing with a voteshare of 45.6 per cent.

CPI(M) is leading on 30 seats, whereas, the BJP is close behind at 27. According to analysts, the Left Front is likely to register a narrow lane victory in the polls.
Manik Sarkar is leading from Dhanpur seat. The CPI(M) is currently ahead on 25 seats. Whereas, the BJP+ is ahead on 23. The IPFT, BJP's ally in Tripura is ahead on 2 constituencies,ย

From Mohanpur constituency, BJP is leading. The candidate Ratan Lal Singh was earlier the Leader of Opposition, representing the Congress. In the run-up to the polls, he switched to the BJP, before siding with the TMC.

In the run-up to the elections, Tripura witnessed a high-voltage electoral campaign from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has allied with anti-Left tribal outfit - the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT). The CPM-led Left Front, on the other hand, banked upon the "credibility" of the four-time incumbent Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
BJP's campaign in the state was led by party chief Amit Shah, along with the state-in-charge Sunil Deodhar. Six public meetings were also addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who bolstered the party's call in Tripura for 'Chalo Paltai' (Lets bring change).
While the BJP is contesting on 51 seats in Tripura, its ally IPFT is fighting on 9 seats. From the Left Front, the CPI(M) has fielded candidates in 56 seats, whereas, 1 each were allotted to the the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), and the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB).
The Congress, which is contesting on 56 seats, has turned into a non-essential participant in Tripura's electoral battle, the pollsters claimed. 5 out of 10 of the party's incumbent MLAs had switched to the BJP ahead of the polls.
At least two exit polls have predicted a victory for the BJP-IPFT in Tripura, ending the 25-year-old Left rule in the state. The Axis My-India survey and the NewsX poll predicted 44-50 and 35-45 seats for the BJP, respectively. On the other hand, the CPI(M) was expected to bag between 9-14 and 15-23 respectively.
CPM spokesperson Goutam Das, reacting the exit poll outcome, said his party would "not like to comment". Calling the exit polls as "speculations", he said the result would speak for itself.
