Mumbai, July 12: The wife and daughter of Thane Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal have been admitted to the Jupiter Hospital today reportedly after being diagnosed with dengue fever. The mother-daughter duo resides in a posh Bandra locality.

Dengue virus is spread by Aedes aegypti mosquito that breeds in freshwater collected at construction sites and or in the overhead tank. Dengue is usually associated with the rainy season, but its outbreak occurs mainly after the rains because the virus needs time to grow and complete its life cycle.

Thane has been witnessing heavy rains since this week started. IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal was appointed as commissioner of Thane civic body in January 2015.
