Telegu Desam Party Worker Sets His Scooter on Fire to Protest Against Petrol, Diesel Price Surge

On the back of the increase in dissent over the exorbitant hike, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said interventionary measures would be taken as per the requirement.

People across India are facing the brunt of the surge in petrol and diesel prices, as the rates continue to hike for a ninth consecutive day. According to today's rate, petrol remains the costliest in Mumbai where Rs 84.70, will be charged for one litre of petrol. In Delhi, the petrol price has been increased from Rs 76.57 to Rs 76.87. In Chennai, the rate has hiked from Rs 79.47 to Rs 79.87

On the back of this surge, a Telegu Desam Party (TDP) worker has set his two-wheeler on fire in Krishna district's Nandigama Village, in protest against fuel price-hike.
