Telangana: 24 Peacocks Found Dead in 10 Days by Allegedly Feeding on Crops With Pesticides
The carcasses of these birds have been sent to the hospital for post-mortem. After which, they will be disposed of by burying them in the ground.
Telangana, July 27: In a span of 10 days, almost 24 peacocks have been found dead in two districts of Telangana. According to an ANI report, District Forest Officers of Jogulamba Gadwal & Nagarkurnool districts said, "We suspect peacocks have fed the crops on which poisonous pesticides were used by the farmers to protect them from insects."
Reportedly, the dead bodies have been shifted to a veterinary hospital in Nagarkurnool for conducting post-mortem. After primary inspection, the veterinary officials have said that these peacocks may have fed on poisonous insecticide crystals used by the farmers in their fields.
