New Delhi, April 23 (IANS) The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hold an early hearing of BJP leader Subramanian Swamy's plea on his right to offer prayers at the makeshift temple at the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra asked him to mention the plea at a later date.

Emerging from the court, Swamy said his right to worship at Ram Janmabhoomi stood at a higher pedestal than the dispute over the ownership of the site between contending parties.
