Sun TV Sends Employees on Leave For The Day as Karunanidhi's Health Deteriorates

Chennai, Aug 7: Sun TV has reportedly sent all its employees on leave for the day as tensions run high after DMK president Karunanidhi's health remained 'extremely critical and unstable'. Sun TV is a leading Tamil language television channel in Tamil Nadu. "Sun TV has relieved all its employees of their duties for the day," reported News18. According to the latest medical bulletin issued by Kauvery Hospital on Tuesday, the condition of Karunanidhi is "extremely critical and unstable". "There has been significant decline in the clinical condition of Karunanidhi over the last few hours. Despite maximum medical support, his vital organ functions continue to deteriorate," a hospital statement said.

Karunanidhi was admitted to Kauvery Hospital for the first time on July 18 for change of tracheostomy tube. On July 26, the hospital said Karunanidhi was suffering from urinary tract infection. On July 28, his condition declined with a drop in his blood pressure. On Monday, the medical bulletin issued by Kauvery Hospital said that Karunanidhi's condition had deteriorated.

Karunanidhi, one of the most senior politicians in India, was Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister five times but has been ailing for some time.
