Stampede at Garibnath Temple in Bihar's Muzaffarpur, 15 Devotees Injured

Muzaffarpur, Aug 13: At least 15 people were injured in a stampede at a temple in Bihar's Muzaffarpur this morning. The stampede broke out at Garibnath Temple after scores of devotees flocked to the temple on third ‘somvaar’ (Monday) of the Shravan month of the Hindu calendar.
Following the ruckus at Garibnath Temple, authorities swang into action and carried out a rescue operation. The situation is said to be under control now. Visuals from the spot showed a large crowd near the temple and some wounded devotees at a hospital.

On October 3, 2014, a stampede broke out on the occasion of Dussehra festival at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The incident occurred when people were returning after watching the 'Ravan Vadh' ceremony. Over 30 people died in the Patna stampede.
