Mumbai, May 29: The Solapur Express train, parked at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), caught fire on Tuesday. The flames erupted in at least two coaches of the train at around 2:45 pm. Fire brigade personnel, along with the Railway Police Force had been pressed into action to douse off the flames.
No injuries were reported in the incident as the train was empty. The train was stationed at the CST yard when the fire broke out. Railway officials have confirmed that no cleaner of worker was present onboard when two coaches of the rake went ablaze. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
According to reports, the fire will not cause any impact on the local railway services. The trains plying on the intra-city route through CST will continue to function as per the schedule.
The arrival and departure of out-station trains, however, would be impact till the fire is doused off.

The incident comes days after the Mumbai-bound Howrah Mail Express caught fire in Wardha, near Nagpur. The assistant loco pilot was killed in the accident on May 7, whereas, the driver sustained critical injuries.
A fire also broke out on Delhi-Vizag Andhra Express near Gwalior station on May 21. Three coaches of the train were affected by the fire. However, no injuries were reported as all passengers were safely evacuated.
