Kolkata, July 5: In a shocking case of sexual abuse, a two-year-old was allegedly sexually assaulted at a play school in Kolkata. Police have registered a case under the POCSO Act. As per a Times of India report, parents of a young boy studying in a play school at Behala had lodged a complaint with the Thakurpukur police on Wednesday, alleging that their son was possibly sexually abused in the play school, during a Doctors’ Day programme where students, teachers and staff members played the role of doctors and patients. Based on the complaint, police have registered an FIR and initiated a case under the POCSO Act.

According to the father of the victim, on that day, the child after returning from school was extremely irritated and crying. It was, however, when the child's mother took him for a bath, she found blood oozing from his rectum, and there was swelling as well.

On taking the child to the paediatrician, they were told that some sexual assault might have been committed on him. When they went to meet the principal, the latter denied and refused to show the CCTV footages of that particular day, citing that there is some problem with the video. The playschool mentioned in the complaint has six branches in the city.
