New Delhi, Sep 3: A self-styled godman was arrested for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old girl in a South Delhi temple, police said on Monday. Self-proclaimed godman Nabbe Bhagat is an accused of molesting the girl in a temple in south Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri on August 17. A case was registered on August 30 following which he was arrested on Sunday.

On August 17, the complainant along with her niece and son visited the temple. Since the complainant’s son was ill, she took him to Nabbe Bhagat to get his illness cured, a police officer said, as reported by news agency PTI. During the visit, the self-styled godman molested the woman's niece and threatened to kill her, Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Vijay Kumar said.

The woman then filed a complaint based on which a case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Subsequently, Bhagat was arrested from his temple on Sunday. Further investigation was underway. In July, a self-proclaimed godman was arrested in Maharashtra for allegedly making his male followers engage in unnatural sexual acts with each other.

Asif Noori (38) was arrested from Parbhani after video and audio clips of him allegedly forcing male followers into unnatural sex were circulated on social media. Noori used to target young married men from Nanded and Parbhani districts of Marathwada by claiming to possess divine powers.
