Karnataka, May 26: In a shocking case, a class 9 student was found dead in the washroom of Sainik School in south Karnataka's Kodagu district, after being scolded by a teacher. According to an NDTV report, the computer teacher had rebuked the boy for watching porn on a computer, and the boy was asked to give a letter of apology.
At the 4 pm attendance call, the boy was reported missing, but his absence was not followed up by the authorities. It was only after the 6:30 pm roll call, when he still did not appear, his father who works as a hockey coach at the school was informed.
Everyone started searching for the boy, and finally, the students found the toilet door locked from inside. When the door was forced open, the boy was found in an unconscious state, and was rushed to the hospital, police said. He was declared dead when he was brought to the government hospital.
The Police have registered a case of murder and an investigation into the matter is underway. The vice principal and four other staff members of Kodagu's Sainik School, 231 km from Bengaluru, are under the police scanner. The family of the boy, as well as locals, protested outside the school, the situation is under control now, and the family has been briefed and explained about the probe.
