Following the verdict announced by Jodhpur Court on 20-year old blackbuck case, where actor Salman Khan was jailed for five years, the shares of apparel company, Mandhana Retail Ventures saw a highly volatile day at the stock market today.  The stock fell as much almost 15 percent from the day's high of Rs 132.25 to day's low at Rs 111.40. The shares finally ended flat at Rs 116. Mandhana Retail has licensing arrangement with Salman Khan's Being Human Foundation to design, manufacture, retail and distribute clothing lines under "Being Human" trademark.

According to reports, Mandhana Industries, the Demerged Company had entered into global exclusive Brand License Agreement with “Being Human – The Salman Khan Foundation” on December 23, 2010 effective from January 1, 2011 to use trademark & logo of “Being Human” for all clothes range / clothing lines.

The Mumbai based charity organisation was founded by Bollywood star Salman Khan in 2007, it provides education and healthcare services for the underprivileged in India. In 2009, he introduced Being Human clothing line and ever since then, the superstar dons the brand's t-shirts at all public events.

According to reports, Being Human was started to portray a positive image about Bhai in front of the media, who by that time had already engulfed himself in serious controversies like the blackbuck case and the hit and run incident.  Commenting on Salman Khan's verdict, Jaya Bachchan, Rajya Sabha, Minister of Parliament has been quoted as saying, "I feel bad. He should be given relief. He has done a lot of humanitarian work."

Earlier today, Salman Khan got convicted in the 20-year old blackbuck case. Now the star will have to spend five years in jail. His other co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre, who were accused have been acquitted today. While the fate of all Salman's movies, brands that he endorsed, keep hanging with the recent verdict announced, it will be interesting to see, if Being Human can escape the brunt of the judgement.
