New Delhi, Feb 1: The by-election results for the five seats -- three from Lok Sabha and two from state assemblies -- will be declared today by the Election Commission. The bypolls for Rajasthan's two parliamentary seats -- Ajmer and Alwar -- and one assembly seat - Mandalgarh, along with West Bengal's Naopara, an assembly segment, and Uluberia, a Lok Sabha constituency, were held on January 29. Here are the past winners from the seats.

Ajmer: Previously held by the BJP. The seat was represented in the Lok Sabha by senior party leader Mahant Chand Nath. The by-elections were necessitated after he died battling prolonged illness on September 9 last year.

Alwar: The seat was also bagged by the ruling BJP in the 2014 general elections. Veteran party functionary Sanwar Lal Jat had won the polls then. The by-elections were necessitated following the sudden demise of Sanwar Lal Jat on August 9 last year.

Mandalgarh: MLA Kirti Kumari of BJP represented the legislative segment in the Rajasthan assembly. The seat fall vacant after she succumbed to swine flu on August 28.

Uluberia: The last MP from this parliamentary constituency was TMC veteran Sultan Ahmed, who passed away on September 4, 2017, after suffering a cardiac attack.

Noapara: The seat fall vacant last year after the incumbent MLA Madhusudan Ghosh died on August 18, after suffering from protracted illness.
