Rape Attempt Foiled: RPF's Timely Intervention & Exemplary Courage Saved a Woman in Chennai

The accused was arrested and handed over to the Egmore Government Railway Police.

Chennai, April 25: Lately, there has been an increase in crimes against minors and women in the country. There is nationwide outrage over the atrocities that are happening in the country. However, according to a report in Hindu, a rape attempt has been foiled by the timely intervention of a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable in Chennai. The official was quick to act when he jumped out of a moving MRTS train at the Park station to get into the next compartment of the train to rescue a woman from the clutches of a man trying to rape her.

Reportedly, the railway official heard the screams of a woman from the other compartment. But he could not enter it, as there was no vestibule. So when the train arrived at the Park Station, the railway official showed his exemplary courage, he jumped out and entered the next compartment.

On entering the compartment, he saw the man attempting to rape, so he pushed the accused away and rescued her. The woman was sent to the hospital for treatment. The accused was arrested and handed over to the Egmore Government Railway Police.
