President Ram Nath Kovind to Visit Siachen Base Camp Today, After APJ Abdul Kalam
According to PTI reports, President Kovind is likely to visit Jaipur and Ajmer in Rajasthan on May 13 and 14.
Jammu & Kashmir, May 10: President Ram Nath Kovind to visit the Siachen base camp in Jammu & Kashmir today and interact with the soldiers posted there. He will be the first president to visit the camp since the visit of former President APJ Abdul Kalam in 2004.
According to an ANI report, he will also be the first President to visit the Camp, since former President APJ Abdul Kalam visited in 2004. He will also visit the Kumar Post, according to the statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Siachen is considered to the highest battle-ground, and both India and Pakistan have had repeated border tensions at the glacier since the last thirty years.
According to PTI reports, President Kovind is likely to visit Jaipur and Ajmer in Rajasthan on May 13 and 14. The President is expected to attend a function at Birla auditorium in Jaipur. He also has plans of visiting Pushkar and Ajmer Sharif Dargah during his two-day visit, an official of General Administration Department said.
