President Address on Eve of Independence Day 2018: Watch Live Streaming of Ram Nath Kovind's Speech to The Nation on Doordarshan
As the President of India, this will be the second Independence Day address by Ram Nath Kovind.
New Delhi, Aug 14: A day before the Independence Day 2018, President Ram Nath Kovind will address the nation tonight. The live streaming of Kovind's address on the eve of the Independence Day will be telecast over all the channels of Doordarshan from 7:00 pm, said a statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. President Kovind's address to the nation will also be broadcast on the entire national network of the All India Radio (AIR). The speech will be broadcast in regional languages on all the channels of Doordarshan from 8:00 pm onwards. As the President of India, this will be the second Independence Day address by Ram Nath Kovind. He took office on 25 July 2017.
While President Kovind will address the nation tonight, Prime Ministre Narendra Modi will deliver his speech tomorrow from the ramparts of the Red Fort after flag hoisting ceremony. Security has been tightened up in the national capital and across the country ahead of the Independence Day. An all-woman Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, consisting of 36 commandos, will be deployed at strategic locations for securing the Independence Day celebrations.
