Uttar Pradesh, November 21: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the Supreme Court for its judgment in the Ayodhya case while addressing a rally in Basti. According to an ANI tweet, he said, "We are grateful to the Supreme Court for settling the 500-year-long pending matter related to Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya in just 45 minutes. It shows the power of democracy and judiciary."
Ahead of the historic judgment, in the decade-old Ayodhya case, Adityanath called for peace and had stated that the verdict shouldn't be seen as anybody's victory or loss. The Supreme Court last Saturday passed its judgment on the Ayodhya matter. The apex court directed the Centre to form within three months a trust which will build a Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. The five-judge bench said the Sunni Waqf Board, which was a party to the 7-decade-old title suit, should be given an alternate five-acre land at some other suitable place for construction of a mosque.
