Prayagraj, January 29: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to hold a special Cabinet meeting at Kumbh on Tuesday. This would be followed by a dip in the holy Ganga, and a special screening of 'Uri: The Surgical Strikes' which would be screened for him and his cabinet colleagues.

This would be the first-ever occasion when a Cabinet meeting would be held at Kumbh. The last instance of a Cabinet meeting being arranged outside the UP legislative assembly or the CMO dates back to 2003, when the then Mayawati-led government convened a meeting of Ministers at the State Public Library of Allahabad (now Prayagraj). Kumbh Mela 2019: Yogi Adityanath Predicts Over 15 Crore Devotees by 6th Holy-Dip.

District magistrate Suhas LY, while speaking to reporters on Monday, said all arrangements have been made for the Chief Minister's program in Kumbh.

Along with Yogi, the 24 Ministers in his Cabinet, including Deputy CMs Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya, would be attending the meeting, scheduled at 11am. After the meeting concludes, they would be taking a bath in holy Ganga, and subsequently attend the screening of Uri film in a mobile theatre.

One of the reasons why Yogi planned a Cabinet meeting in Kumbh, said BJP insiders, is to promote the "systematic organisation" of the festival by his government. Yogi has credited the assistance from the Centre for achieving the feat.

"It is a proud moment for us that Kumbh is being organised so systematically and first day of Kumbh has been finished with an ease. There are so many things which are happening for the first time in Kumbh under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said, adding that the total number of pilgrims this year will add up to nearly 15 crore.
