Yogi Adityanath Holds Cabinet Meet at Kumbh Mela 2019, Announces 600-Km-Long Ganga Expressway From Prayagraj to Western Uttar Pradesh

For this ambitious Ganga Expressway, the Yogi Adityanath will have to spend Rs 36,000 crores.

Prayagraj, January 29: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday made an announcement from the ‘holy’ land of Kumbh in Prayagraj to make 600-km Ganga Expressway. For this new Expressway – connecting Prayagraj to Western Uttar Pradesh – a whopping amount of Rs 36,000 crores would be needed.

Making the announcement form the dais of Kumb Mela in Prayagraj, CM Yogi stated, as quoted by ANI, “Cabinet has decided to make Ganga-Expressway, to connect Prayagraj with Western Uttar Pradesh. This will be world's longest expressway, approximately 600 km, and it will take 6,556 hectares of land. Adding more information about the route, the Chief Minister added, “The Ganga-Expressway will go through areas including Meerut-Amroha-Bulandshahr-Budaun-Shahjahanpur-Kannauj-Unnao-Raebareli-Pratapgarh and arrive at Prayagraj.” Through this route, the Adityanath government in the state want to connect to the people of Eastern and Westen UP.

This is for the second time that any state cabinet headed by the chief minister in Uttar Pradesh has functioned outside the state capital. Along with the state cabinet members, Adiyanath traveled to Prayagraj and chaired the cabinet meeting.
