Yogi Adityanath by Side, Vedanti Maharaj's Dare on Ram Mandir: 'Won't Wait For Court's Order...Temple Will be Built Before 2019'
Vedanti, a former BJP MP, has been at the forefront of the temple movement since the late 80s'.
Kannauj, June 25: Noted seer and former Bharatiya Janata Party lawmaker Ram Vilas Vedanti, also referred to Vedanti Maharaj, made a contentious remark while speaking at a public function in Kannauj. In the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Vedanti said Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will be built "at any cost" before the 2019 elections.
Vedanti, 59, has been at the forefront of the temple movement since the late 80s'. He is also a member of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, an all-India body of priests and seers who have been demanding the temple construction at the disputed site.
While the Ayodhya dispute is currently sub-judice, Vedanti issued a dare to courts saying the "Hindus will not wait" for the court's order.

"Ram mandir jo hai hamare desh ke pratyek Hindu ka vishay hai. Jahan Ram lalla virajmaan hain wahan mandir banega aur mandir banne ke liye kisi court ki prateeksha nahin karenge. Agar court ka aadesh aa jaata hai to theek hai nahin aata tab bhi mandir banega. Yeh nischit hai ki 2019 se pehle mandir banega (Ram temple is an issue for every Hindu in our country. A temple will be built where Ram resides and we won't wait for any court. If the court allows it, then fine but even if it doesn't, a temple shall still be built. It is certain that the temple will be built before 2019)," he was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Speaking earlier at the function, Adityanath made multiple references to the proposed Ram temple in Ayodhya. However, his tone was more diplomatic as he expressed "absolute faith" in the judiciary. "With Lord Ram's blessings, the mandir will be definitely constructed here. There be should be no doubt about this, especially among the seers," he said.
